What abilities come naturally to you, that not everyone has?
(Often these abilities come so naturally to us that we assume everybody else has them too – but later discover that we’re kind of unique in having that skill.)
These natural abilities are good things to work into your art, your jewelry business, and other aspects of your life.
One of my strongest traits is the ability to immediately see multiple possibilities.
Here are some examples of that:
- When I made a five-foot long chain, I immediately saw several possibilities for wearing it. I spotlighted six of those possibilities in 6 Ways to Wear a 5-Foot Long Chain. (I also shared 8 possible ways I saw for making your own uber-long chain.)
- When I was creating my wire jewelry class, I saw so many possible ways to use each wire jewelry component that I made those possibilities part of the class.
- When I need a tool I don’t have on hand, I can immediately see several possibilities for substitute tools (in fact, in my free tutorials I often list household objects you can use instead of a tool you may not have).
- And as a non-jewelry example: Many years ago when I had my first full-time job, I had a small wardrobe of office clothes. But I saw so many possible ways to mix my individual garments together into different outfits that I could go two months at a time without repeating an outfit. Looking back, I’m sure that not every outfit was wonderful, but I did make the most of the possibilities!
Knowing that I naturally see possibilities everywhere, I consciously use that skill in my art, my business, and my life.
